Sun, November 6, 2005 - 10:08 PMGypsy,
Thanks so much for the random tip! I was getting very frustrated in my search for my bus. I came across your message on Tribe about Trigg Bus, followed the link, and bought a bus from them a week later. Jim, the owner, is incredibly helpful. One of the first things he did was ask me what I planned on using the bus for. I was floored just by that question, since all the other people I contacted either didn't return my call, were really curt and impatient with my questions, or were totally unknowledgeable about the bus I was interested in.
Trigg Bus is totally Mom&Pop, and so their customer service is of the old-fashioned variety. AND they're prices are very good. I maybe could have gotten a comparable bus for less by scouring auctions and being persistent with local schools, but this way I was able to have a mechanic do a thorough inspection and avoid rushing my decision. The engine, tranny and tires alone on my bus are worth more than I paid for it! And I can't get over how clean the darn thing is. No gum in the whole place!
OK, gonna stop gushing about how fantastic this place is. If anyone's on the West Coast and looking to by a bus, definitely check out Trigg Bus!
Peace,
Valerie -

Sun, November 6, 2005 - 11:45 PMGlad I could help Valerie. Care to tell us what you got? You get one of their big diesel buses or smaller gas skoolies? I'm attempting to save money again & going to Triggs for a bus. How much you pay? You going to convert it yourself? You need to keep us up to date. Hell everyone should do a bus journal just like Pixie. Awesome journal btw Pixie. Oh & I love your little Trolls.

Re: Oregon Buses for Sale
Sun, November 13, 2005 - 4:35 PMGypsy, I got it for a relative song - $3900. There are cheaper ones, for sure, but I opted to go for the best bus I could afford. It is a huge diesel, and for the quality of the engine/tranny/tires, it was a deal. I do plan on doing the conversion myself. When I get around to it, I will set up a journal to document the process blow-by-blow. If you get one of Jim's buses, tell him I said "hi".... I don't think he appreciates how good it would be for him to link up with all the skoolie groups online, and the more he sees people being referred through the Internet, the more he'll understand that. Frankly, I'd be thrilled to see such a good, down-home bus salesman like him more available to these communities, and to see him get more business from it. Win-win.
